Loch Lomond (US)Hier haben wir es mit einer Band zu tun, die durch ihre ausverkaufte USA-Tour mit The Decemberists und ihren Song Wax and Wire populär wurde, der als Soundtrack eines Skate-Videos bislang 43 Millionen mal auf Youtube geschaut wurde. Im Laufe der Jahre hat Loch Lomond immer wieder seine Besetzung geändert - mitunter spielte ein knappes Dutzend MusikerInnen die Konzerte.So war Loch Lomond auch uns in bester Erinnerung - als verdammt große Band spielten sie ihr Hafen-2-Debüt vor einigen Jahren, das nicht wenige Gäste verblüfft und begeistert zurück ließ - es ist in der Tat nicht mehr und nicht weniger weniger als orchestraler Pop, was dieses Ensemble aus Portland zaubert. Nun ist Loch Lomond zurück - kleiner, anders. Als Duo nämlich aus Ritchie Young und Anna Hoone, über die ihr weiter unten lesen könnt.

Rooted in old-time gospel, country, and folk traditions,  Anna Hoone's classic Americana is influenced by the staggering beauty of the landscape around her and a certain ever-present longing for home and companionship.

Her stark, straightforward lyrics reflect universal truths about the hardships and trials we all face.  Hoone's voice is soft, lilting, and precise, with an edge that comes from having lived the words she sings.

Anna grew up in rural southern Oregon, and has called Kentucky and Montana home at one point or another. She has studied music in Senegal and Austria, and has discovered that no matter where you go, the truth of the song is what matters most.
